Is the Edmunds School District switching to all Windows?

I heard from a teacher yesterday that the Seattle School District is mandating a switch to homogenous Windows - and forcing Mac-only schools to switch as well. They think they will save on network administration costs by having just one type of system to support. But I wonder if it will cause more problems supporting Windows insecure machines vs. secure Macs? Does anyone know about this? Is Microsoft the special interest in Seattle pushing this?
