Nolan Ryan / Steve Carlton 1972 Strikeout Leaders into $100,000 for the Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund
Status: Available - email me if you wish to trade
As I described earlier, inspired by One Red Paperclip, I'm going to try to trade a baseball card with an estimated value of $25.00 for items of relative or greater value until I raise $100,000 for my favorite charity, The Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund.
If you have something you would like to trade for the baseball card, please post your offer as a comment below so that everyone can see each one as they come in. I'll respond in the comment thread and update this post when I've selected a trade. There is no time limit for this project. I'm going to trade until I complete my goal.
The first item is a 1973 Topps #67 Near Mint Baseball Card of Nolan Ryan of the formerly California Angels and Steve Carlton of the Philadelphia Phillies as 1972 Strikeout Leaders of the American and National League. Carlton had 310 strikeouts and Ryan had 329. Each of these guys are arguably some of the greatest pitchers of all times. I originally purchased the card for $5.00 but it's estimated in the price guides around $25.00.
