Experimenting with the Amazon Associates Carousel Widget

I'm playing around with the Amazon Associates Carousel Widget. You can see an example below or here or here:

Basically, it's a novel way to advertise Amazon products that you receive a commission on through their associates program. The carousel can be set up vertically, horizontall and at three different dimensions. Products can be chosen automatically by category or loaded statically up front.

It's a prettier way to advertise things, but they need to offer some customization options. The stark white background is not pretty.

How do you resize the carousel widget just like what you've shown above? By the way thank your thoughts being shared.

It would be nice if you could change the background color of this widget.

It's a nice looking widget. Just not sure, yet how affective it is.

The white background can work well if it goes well with the color scheme of your site and the products you're listing. For example, it matches the white background that this site uses.

I wouldn't redesign a site just for that reason. Agree with the other posters that it should be more customizable. Still one of the better ad widgets I've seen.
